Gum Therapy Program

Periodontal disease is infection of the gum, bone and connective tissue that surrounds your teeth and holds them in place. If left untreated, it can become severe and will eventually lead to gum abscessing and tooth loss. Periodontal disease is often painless and you may not be aware that there is a problem until your gums and the supporting bone are seriously impacted.

However, periodontal diseases can often be caught and treated in the early stages through treatments known as scaling and root planing. This procedure, often referred to as Deep Scaling, may require additional treatment times and freezing in comparison to your regular cleanings. In some advanced cases, referral to the Periodontal specialist may be required for evaluation and gum surgery/grafting.

After your Comprehensive Dental Exam, the dentist will work with you to determine treatment options and a maintenance program that will help to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
