- What is the difference between Store bought and professional Whitening Systems?
Store-bought bleaching kits do not include a good custom fitted tray and often do not have the same concentration of bleaching agent as our professional gels. They use a standard one-size-fits-all tray that may or may not touch the teeth evenly. You are welcome to try store bought bleaching kits, but we highly recommend our professional custom fitted trays.
How long does your in-office whitening take? Our in-office whitening session is divided into 15-minute applications for maximum carbamide peroxide gel concentration and light exposure. Individuals with sensitive teeth may require a lower light setting for less intensive treatments, while those with very heavy stains may require additional treatments.
How long will the results last? This varies from patient to patient and depends on the types of foods and drinks you consume in your daily diet. This also depends on your general oral hygiene practices. The results of teeth whitening should last up to one year. Again, depending on your daily habits, periodic treatments may be recommended for those who smoke or consume coffee, red wine, colas and other staining foods or beverages. Most people whiten again every six months.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening can help you achieve the brighter, whiter smiles you’ve been dreaming of!
Unfortunately, every day our teeth are exposed to elements that cause them to stain over time, such as coffee, wine, smoking, and certain medications. As a result, seeking whiter teeth has become one of the more popular aesthetic concerns for dental patients.
The most popular and convenient method is our take-home whitening kit, which allows you to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. These kits allow you to control the amount of whitening your teeth receive, as well as reduce the tooth sensitivity that is sometimes accompanied with whitening procedures.
We strongly recommend a hygiene appointment prior to any whitening procedures to remove plaque or stain that may be present on your teeth, which can improve effectiveness.
Please remember, whitening treatments only work on natural tooth enamel. Crowns and composite fillings do not whiten with these procedures.
